DESCRIPTION
A bolt of many-colored light leaps from your
hand and screams toward an enemy’s head.
The bolt strikes any one target in range and deals 1d6 points damage
with a successful ranged touch
attack.
At 11th level, the bolt deals 1d10 points of damage.
Special: A
sorcerer with the aberrent, abyssal, or
protean bloodlines gains an additional effect when casting this spell. If
the target failed its saving throw, the bolt targets another creature of your
choice within range of the original target. This new attack deals damage that
is one size lower (for example, 1d6 becomes 1d4) with a successful ranged touch
attack. Each time a target fails its saving throw, a
new target is chosen and will take one less die of damage until reduced to 1d3.
Repeat this attack until a target succeeds its saving throw. If the spell
should spread beyond your field of vision, the spell targets the creature
closest to the previous target.
You can only target a creature once with a single casting of this
spell and you cannot end the spell voluntarily so the spell can target allies,
bystanders or even yourself. If there are multiple attacks, they occur very
quickly, however the gamemaster may decide to limit the number of targets that
can be affected on a single round. Should the spell continue beyond the first
round, the effect can be dispelled or removed with a limited
wish, miracle, remove
curse, or wish spell.
